Please note that we do not accept submissions of poetry or children's books.

If would like to submit an idea or a manuscript for a book, here are some pointers for you as you seek a publisher:
 
1. Have a clear idea of who your market is and which publisher reaches that market most successfully.
 
2. Contact that publisher to get the name of the person who processes non-agented manuscripts (if you send it in without a name, it may never get to the right place and these names do change regularly).  If you wish to submit a manuscript to Hodder Faith, please mark your envelope for the attention of Joanna Davey, Editorial Assistant.
 
3. Hodder & Stoughton finds it helpful to see the following:
    Author curriculum vitae
    Synopsis (chapter breakdown)
    Sample chapter (or two depending on length)
    Any marketing or publicity information that would help to sell such a book
 
4. Do enclose an SAE and always keep back-up copies of everything you send.
 
5. Be prepared for a significant delay before you receive a reply as yours is one of many such communications.
 
6. Lastly, be aware that many publishers are so overwhelmed with manuscripts that they are unable to give in depth or even personalised replies should they turn down a proposal.
